Interesting interview with living legend, Kevin Roche. The article includes some photos of the renovated American Wing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC.
While working at my previous firm, I was the project engineer responsible for the structural design.
The work included extending the main wing vertically, adding a new display level above and excavation of a new basement level below the original slab on grade.
A joint venture between Viraline and a degree of freedom submitted an entry into the Urbanshed 2009 Competition. A total of 273 entries were received by the organizers. Here's keeping our fingers crossed!
We assisted with James Vira of Viraline on the NYC OEM Provisional Housing Competition in 2008 (RDIC entry).
The RDIC entry was one of 10 entries (out of 150) which was accepted for Phase II of the project.
In addition, Viraline won honorable mention in the P/A awards in February 2009 for the concept. Way to go Viraline!
