The structural scope encompassed 100% reinforcement/replacement of the existing floor framing for new ornamental stairs, elevator shaft, and removal of intermediate load bearing walls. The existing structure was retrofit to promote energy efficiency to achieve passive housing.
The new roof was designed to be utilized as a terrace and green roof. |
Progress continues on the Connecticut shore with this modern steel framed residential building. The engineered wood floor joists and plywood sheathing have been fully installed and the wood walls are near completion to begin acceptance of large glazing walls and finishes. Incredible views!

Currently under construction: a 3,000 sq ft contemporary residence located on the shoreline in Rowayton, Connecticut. The building utilizes a lateral system consisting of steel diagonal bracing and moment frames.
All columns are HSS shapes and the floors are framed with 12" deep W-beams infilled with TJI joists and plywood. A series of dramatic, large cantilevered areas are made possible through the use of structural steel and moment connections.
