All connections are by use of hickory wood pins, the pins would have been dried in a kiln, then hammered into the wood beams and posts. The hickory would draw moisture from the wood members, and swell, resulting in a tighter connection.

180 years later, looks better than new. The roof boards have been replaced, but the primary structural frame is all original.

Working with Andrew Burdick of Architects for Humanity on the potential to reuse some existing spaces in New York City Public schools as outdoor green studies/ class rooms.
